📺Fox5 MORE Featuring Long Life Med: Bringing “Timely Care Without the Rush” to Las Vegas

FOX5 MORE host Nicole beside the Long Life Med logo during a Local Las Vegas television feature about longevity and functional medicine.

What does healthcare look like when your provider actually has time to listen?

Long Life Med was recently featured on TV on Fox5 MORE: Local Las Vegas, giving viewers a look inside our Las Vegas clinic and an introduction to the philosophy behind our approach to healthcare.

The segment highlights something that has been central to Long Life Med from the beginning:

You’re NOT a number. You’re a person.
Timely Care Without the Rush.

A Different Kind of Healthcare Experience

Many people are familiar with the traditional medical-office routine: check in, sit in a crowded waiting room, wait again in an exam room, and then have only a few minutes with a provider who may be seeing a long list of patients that day. Then get referred to another provider or lab/imaging, and wait a long time to get that appointment and go through the same routine.

Long Life Med was designed differently.

During the FOX5 segment, viewers can see patients arriving at the clinic and being welcomed personally. Because we do not routinely double-book appointments, our goal is for patients to move directly into their visit rather than spending their time sitting in a large waiting room.

The B-roll throughout the segment shows something that can be difficult to explain in an advertisement: patients appearing relaxed, comfortable, engaged in conversation, and given time to be heard.

“It’s Like Going Into Their Living Room”

One Long Life Med patient shared a brief comment during the FOX5 feature describing the experience as being “like going into their living room” because it felt so comfortable, and it makes it easy for them to talk about and share their complicated health issues.

That comment captures an important part of what we have tried to create.

Healthcare is still healthcare. Medical decisions need to be thoughtful, evidence-informed, and taken seriously. But the environment in which those conversations happen does not have to feel rushed, impersonal, or intimidating.

We want patients to feel comfortable enough to ask questions, explain what they are experiencing, discuss concerns they may have been reluctant to bring up before, and understand the reasoning behind their care.

More Time to Listen, Educate and Guide

One of the biggest differences at Long Life Med is simply time.

Our initial visits can be extensive when needed, particularly when a patient has a complicated history, multiple concerns, previous laboratory results, medications, supplements, or health goals that need to be reviewed together.

Before a patient even shows up, the provider already takes the time to read your detailed intake form and history, so he is not just blindly going into the appointment (which unfortunately is the norm).

Although after we already know you, some visits are tele and via texts, most of the initial follow-up visits are also designed to allow meaningful face-to-face time with the provider rather than reducing healthcare to a rushed five- or ten-minute encounter whenever possible.

That additional time allows us to do more than ask, “What hurts today?”

It gives us an opportunity to ask:

  • What has changed?
  • What has already been tried?
  • What might have been overlooked?
  • What do your laboratory results actually mean?
  • What are your goals?
  • And, when appropriate, why might this be happening in the first place?

In-House Labs & Pharmacy, with Wholesale Prices

Our Direct Primary Care Members also benefit from having their labs drawn in-house, so they don’t have to schedule and wait at another lab.

We also pass on to our members our wholesale pricing for the labs and medications, often much much cheaper than their insurance copays.
That’s why although most of our members doesn’t have insurance, even those with great insurance and low deductibles still come to Long Life Med.

Primary Care, Functional Medicine and More

The FOX5 feature also includes footage of several of the services and technologies available through Long Life Med.

Aside from Urgent Care for our DPC members, our practice combines Direct Primary Care with additional services that may include functional and longevity-focused medicine, hormone evaluation and management, medically managed weight management, customized NIR & Red Light Therapy, advanced laboratory testing, IV therapy, painless hair rejuvenation, wellness services, and other individualized treatment options when appropriate.

Direct Primary Care gives our members a more direct relationship with their healthcare provider for many everyday primary and urgent-care needs.

Instead of billing insurance for routine visits, members pay a predictable membership fee and gain easier access to their provider, longer appointments, and the ability to communicate with us more directly.

This does not mean insurance is unnecessary. Health insurance remains important for major emergencies, hospitalization, surgery, specialty care, and other potentially high-cost medical needs.

We simply believe that routine healthcare can work differently.

Going Beyond the Symptom

For some patients, primary care is only part of the picture.

Our functional and longevity medicine approach may involve taking a deeper look at laboratory results, metabolic health, hormones, nutrition, lifestyle, medications, supplements, sleep, inflammation, cardiovascular risk, and other factors that may contribute to how someone feels and functions.

People are individuals. Two patients with similar symptoms may not necessarily have the same underlying problem. And two patients with the same problem may have different reactions to the same medications or supplements, that is why each treatment is personalized.

Sometimes the explanation is complex. Sometimes it is surprisingly simple.

Either way, finding it often starts with having enough time to ask the right questions.

FAQ

Does Long Life Med accept insurance?

No. We are a Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinic, so we don’t bill insurance for visits, labs, or in-house medications. Patients pay a flat monthly fee for unlimited access and included services. Many times, our wholesale cash pricing on labs and medications is lower than insurance copays. Prescriptions filled at outside pharmacies may still be processed by your insurance.

What if I need a specialist in Las Vegas?

You can still see specialists whether or not you have insurance. Many Las Vegas specialists charge about $200–$300 for the initial visit and $100–$200 for follow-ups on a cash basis—often comparable to (or lower than) some copays. With DPC, we can order labs or imaging ahead of time so your specialist visit is more efficient and focused on next steps.

Can I get affordable lab testing without insurance?

Yes. Long Life Med members get wholesale pricing on labs through Labcorp and Quest.

  • A Testosterone test that may retail for $69 costs only $8.24 at Long Life Med.
  • A Vitamin D test that can cost up to $300+ when billed through insurance, or $75/$99 cash pay through Quest/Labcorp, is only $18.59 at Long Life Med through our wholesale contracts.
Do you offer urgent care services in Las Vegas?

Yes. As part of membership, urgent care visits are included. This covers issues like wound repair, in-clinic antibiotics, rapid tests (strep/flu/COVID/pregnancy/mono/urinalysis/BV/trichomoniasis/fecal blood), and same-day/next-day access—often faster and more affordable than traditional urgent care.

What other services does Long Life Med provide?

In addition to primary and urgent care, we offer:

Direct Primary Care vs. Concierge in Las Vegas — what’s the difference?

DPC charges a flat membership and doesn’t bill insurance for primary care; pricing is usually lower and includes unlimited visits and wholesale labs/meds. Concierge typically also bills insurance (often PPO-only) plus charges a high annual retainer for extra access. DPC ≠ concierge.

Best small business health plans in Las Vegas/Nevada?

Many SMBs pair Employer-Sponsored DPC (as low as $75/employee and $64/family member) with a wrap product (catastrophic or HDHP) for hospital-level risk. This can lower total spend and employee out-of-pocket while improving access and retention.
